Himangini started Geaux Girls STEM as a backyard initiative when she was 16 in 2022. Eventually, she had opportunities to expand the project. She was inspired to start the initiative due to the personal fears she faced in her STEM clubs. After seeing how much the kids enjoyed the project and recognizing the lack of community mentorship, she decided to continue and make it official.
Growing up in a low-income household, Himangini faced financial barriers that limited her access to educational opportunities. However, organizations like the one she now leads helped her overcome these challenges and participate in incredible programs. These experiences shaped her understanding of the power of STEM education. As the founder of Geaux Girls STEM, Himangini is deeply committed to paying it forward.
